GOAL
Visualize this data in a more interesting and compelling way:
PROCESS
I wanted to retain seeing all the data at-a-glance, and highlight the demographic categories that use each platform the most and the least.
I broke apart the Totals from the demographic categories and used pie charts for an easier side-by-side comparison of their percentages. I kept the order as-is (most used to least, left to right).
I replaced the heatmap with bar charts. I muted the ‘middle’ data by coloring those bars grey. I used a thicker bar to highlight the top 3 demographic users, a thinner bar to highlight the bottom 3 users, and color-coded those with their corresponding demographic.
I created a legend in the header explaining how to read the bars.
