Role: Product Manager/ Product Designer (Solo Project)
Goal: Ideate a product in the health-tech space
PROBLEM
Good communication is a critical component of providing high-quality care in the Emergency Room. If a message is not heard or clear, patient care and staff safety may be compromised.
The communication protocols currently in place work, but there is a ton of room for improvement. This was the impetus behind creating an enterprise mobile app prototype to improve communication and increase efficiency in the ER.
PROCESS
Having worked in the ER, I am familiar with the day-to-day pains of antiquated communication practices. These range from not being able to hear overhead speakers to creating and prioritizing a to-do list with pen and paper.
I analyzed the pain points of working in an ER and designed an app to address them. The app includes a call board summary, incoming patients, individual reminders, and specific precaution notifications.
Users can send and accept requests, prioritize tasks, check completed tasks, and chart directly from the app. Staff can change their status when un/available, and contact (via call or text) staff directly individually or group-wide. Tasks and messages can be charted directly from this app.
SOLUTION
To illustrate this app, I created Hi-Fi mockups of each screen. This is a project I look forward to continuing to work on and to bring to life.
